Our anti-aging laser treatment can address multiple issues in the same treatment. Discover a more refreshed, rejuvenated and youthful appearance as signs of aging and sun damage disappear.
At your appointment, your clinician will make you comfortable and review your treatment plan with you. Your eyes will be protected with an eye shield or glasses. This treatment is typically well tolerated, but topical anesthetic is available should you decide that you would like to use it, especially on more sensitive areas. You may feel a quick, warm sensation as the light is delivered to your skin. The length of your procedure depends on the area(s) being treated, typically within 1 hour.
Using the power of light to comfortably and effectively clear redness and brown spots, this treatment will deliver light energy deep into your skin to stimulate and regenerate your skin cells as it addresses overall tone and texture of the skin.
Immediately after treatment you may experience some mild redness and a flushed appearance that will resolve within a few hours. Your treated skin will start to improve after your first treatment and appear smoother and softer, with great improvement to redness and pigmented areas. For pigmented lesions, you will see a gradual darkening of these over time. They will naturally slough off after 7 – 10 days. It is important that you do not pick or scratch at them. Your results will depend on the condition being treated and the number of treatments you will need to achieve correction. There is no downtime after treatment, and you will be able to wear makeup and return to normal activities immediately. You will also be provided with the proper post treatment care materials.
It is important to follow your specific treatment plan, and that you follow all pre- and post-instructions as provided by your clinician. You will be sensitive to sunlight and must avoid direct sun exposure until your skin is fully healed. You will need to wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30+, and you should cover the treated area before heading outdoors.
Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks prior to and throughout the course of your treatments. You should not have tanned skin from natural light, tanning beds, or even self-tanners/spray tans. Treatment of tanned skin can increase the risk of blistering and/or permanent skin discoloration. Protect the areas from direct sun exposure by wearing protective clothing (hat, visor, etc.) and using a broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
If you have taken Accutane, you cannot be treated until 12 months after the completion of the medication.
Discontinue use of Hydroquinone for at least 2 weeks if fair skinned, 4-6 weeks if dark skinned prior to procedures is important to minimize hyperpigmentation.
Avoid facial waxing, neuromodulator (i.e. Botox) and dermal filler injections 2 weeks prior to any laser treatment.
You may not be a good candidate if you have used Accutane in the last 12 months or are using photo sensitizing medications or drugs, or have a history of abnormal response to sunlight. You should not receive this treatment if you are pregnant. You should not have a tan, by way of natural sunlight or self-tanners. If you have an active infection or cold sore, a history of skin cancer (especially malignant melanoma) or a weakened immune system, this treatment may not be right for you. You are also not a candidate if you have a history of keloid scar formation or are a Fitzpatrick Skin Type VI. Your clinician will thoroughly review your health history and contraindications with you prior to treatment.
