Men, women, and children can be treated, and treatments are customized specifically for you – based on your hair color, texture, and area of treatment and skin type. Body hair that is black, brown, and red can be treated. The hair must have pigment within it in order for the laser to target it effectively. Because of this, patients with very blonde or unpigmented hair will likely not see their desired results.
As far as how many treatments you can expect to need, we must consider how the hair on our body grows. Hair has three phases of growth: active growth phase, an intermediate non-growth phase, and a resting phase with no hair follicle present. Duration of hair growth cycles vary with the location on the body. The laser can only eliminate hair that is currently in an active growth cycle so multiple treatments (usually at least 6) are necessary over a time span (6-8 week intervals) to effectively reduce/remove hair from most areas. Final results may not be apparent for several months post treatment.

Lumenis SPLENDOR X with BLEND X Technology
Lumenis SPLENDOR X is the first solid-state, synchronized laser emission Alexandrite and Nd:YAG system to be released. It is also the first fiber-delivered laser with an integrated plume evacuator and HEPA filter for a smoke-free treatment.
Also included is a Dual Cooling System (DCS) which eliminates the need for numbing cream to help with achieving quick and comfortable treatments for hair removal. Due to the SPLENDOR X BLEND technology this laser is usually suitable for all skin types including dark or skin that has been exposed to the sun, and all body areas and hair types. Results are quickly achieved with this device and a series of six or more customized treatments are needed to ensure that all of the hair is effectively reduced/removed.
