HALO Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

Have you heard about the benefits of laser skin resurfacing but struggled to choose between the different types of laser treatments available? Good news — now you don’t have to. With the HALO hybrid fractional laser, you get the benefits of multiple laser wavelengths for the best results and most comfortable treatment. Give your skin a renewed look in as little as one treatment with HALO.

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser resurfacing is an advanced procedure utilizing precise light wavelengths to enhance skin texture and appearance. It effectively addresses concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation issues, and sun damage.

Performed by a skilled medical professional, the procedure often begins with the application of a numbing agent for comfort. Laser pulses are then directed at targeted areas of the skin, inducing controlled injuries to remove old skin cells and stimulate the growth of new, healthier cells — if you’re using an ablative laser.

Ablative lasers also heat deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen growth. Examples of ablative lasers include CO2 lasers and erbium lasers. Non-ablative lasers, on the other hand, heat the deeper layer of the skin, stimulating collagen production without aggressively targeting skin cells. Examples of non-ablative lasers include BBL (broadband light) or Clear + Brilliant. With HALO, you don’t have to choose between the two–you get both!

Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing

Some of the benefits of HALO laser skin resurfacing include:

Significant improvement in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging

Collagen production tightens the skin

Minimized appearance of pores

A more even, refreshed complexion

Less downtime and recovery than traditional ablative lasers

Laser skin resurfacing is a beautiful way to enhance your natural beauty, feel more confident in your skin, and quickly address any aesthetic issues. With the ability to smooth and tighten skin and improve complexion in just a few sessions, there’s a lot to love.

The HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser for Skin Resurfacing

HALO is a fractional laser that combines ablative and non-ablative laser wavelengths for precise targeting of skin concerns. Before HALO, patients had to choose between ablative and non-ablative lasers. Both have their benefits: ablative lasers can produce more dramatic results but take longer to recover from and may be more harsh on the skin. Non-ablative lasers penetrate more deeply, avoiding any skin damage and providing a more natural, subtle glow.

With both combined in the HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser, you can get all of the comfort of a non-ablative laser with the results of an ablative laser. This best-of-both-worlds device offers dramatic and noticeable results in about a week, with added long-term benefits that continue to build over time.

It can effectively treat fine lines, wrinkles, fine lines, texture, sun damage, pigmentation, acne scars, and other signs of aging—all in one 60-minute treatment.

Results

Results will vary based on your skincare goals and how complex the issue. However, you should begin to see noticeable results within one week. The beauty of HALO is that it only requires one to two treatments to achieve optimal results. To ensure that your results last, we recommend protecting your skin with sunscreen, limiting sun exposure, following a healthy diet, and using skincare that’s suitable for your skin type. If you need help choosing products, our team at SKN BAR Rx can recommend a perfect regimen to ensure your skin glows long after your HALO treatment.

Common FAQs

Yes. You should expect about 3-5 days of downtime after your HALO laser resurfacing treatment. Your SKN BAR Rx provider will provide you with aftercare instructions for the first 24-48 hours after your treatment. As the healing process begins, you will notice some flaking and peeling as fresh, new skin is revealed. You can resume daily activities, but may want to plan to have some downtime from social situations and vigorous exercise.

It is generally well-tolerated with a topical anesthetic and the integrated cooling tip in the handpiece, which is designed for added comfort.

Great question! Here at SKN BAR Rx, we’ll follow your treatment plan closely to ensure that HALO is working for you. We’re here to ensure that you meet your skincare goals as quickly and as effectively as possible. It’s important to be aware that people seeing results after 1-2 sessions usually opt for more aggressive treatment in those sessions. If you’d rather opt for gentler treatment—more non-ablative laser than ablative—you’ll still get the same results, but you may need more sessions. Ultimately, it comes down to a matter of personal preference and the unique makeup of your skin.

While HALO results can last for years, we’ll never tell you it’s a bad idea to get follow-up sessions! With each HALO treatment, you’ll get more of that youthful HALO glow. Maintenance treatments after your intial HALO treatment series are a personal choice. We recommend discussing your goals with your SKN BAR Rx provider, who can help you decide what will benefit your skin the most.
